24:7 CLARKSON YOUTH GROUP REPORT
TUESDAY 8 SEPTEMBER 2026
Last week at 24:7 Clarkson, we welcomed 17 young people for another wonderful evening of fellowship, community and faith formation. It was great to see the young people continuing to engage with one another, build friendships and grow together in their faith.
The focus of the evening was Mary and the Saints, with particular attention given to the important distinction between reverence and worship. We were blessed to welcome Eliza Boylen as our guest speaker, who did an outstanding job presenting the topic in an engaging, accessible and thought-provoking way.
The talk explored how Catholics approach Mary and the Saints, why we honour them and seek their intercession, and, most importantly, how this differs fundamentally from the worship that is due to God alone. The young people were encouraged to develop a deeper understanding of Catholic teaching and practice surrounding Mary and the Saints, while also being equipped to confidently explain the difference between honouring the Saints and worshipping God.
The evening also provided plenty of opportunities for fellowship and community-building. The young people enjoyed a number of activities together, including some familiar favourites and a new activity, all of which were well received and helped create a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. These activities gave the young people an opportunity to strengthen friendships, interact with one another and enjoy time together outside of the formal faith formation component.
Overall, it was a meaningful and enjoyable evening that successfully combined faith formation with fellowship and community-building. We are grateful to Eliza for sharing her knowledge and helping the young people gain a greater appreciation and understanding of Mary and the Saints.
NEXT YOUTH GROUP
Our next 24:7 Clarkson Youth Group will take place on Sunday, 20 September. We are looking forward to another engaging evening as we continue exploring important questions of faith and how they relate to the lives of young people today.
The theme for the evening will be “Miracles: Do Miracles Still Happen Today?”, where we will explore the role of miracles within the Catholic faith and consider whether miracles continue to occur in the modern world. The session will provide an opportunity for the young people to reflect on the nature and purpose of miracles, how the Church understands them, and what they can reveal to us about God’s presence and power.
We are pleased to welcome Zech Boylen as our guest speaker for the evening. Alongside the talk and faith formation, the night will include plenty of opportunities for fellowship, activities and community-building, creating a welcoming environment where the young people can continue to grow in their faith, ask questions and strengthen their relationships with one another.
